btw just got back from visiting colleges in Pittsburgh yesterday. I visited Duquesne and I drove by Carnegie Mellon. Duquesne was fantastic. The music building is really nice and they have a ton of great facilities (recording studio, piano labs, computer labs equipped with good software, etc). Also, the campus is really nice and I really like how it’s in its own little campus, yet it’s right next to downtown. The only thing negative about the school is that they only have a few photography classes and if I decide that I don’t want to major in music, there’s not a whole lot to fall back on, although they have music therapy and music ed. so I don’t think I will be optionless. overall it was a great experience. Also, the tour guide (an honest freshman) told me how there isn’t a whole lot of partying on campus and that most people to go South Side or Pitt/CMU fo that, which is kind of disappointing in some ways because I was looking forward to finally partying. Overall, I think it’s pretty much the school I want to go to. Carnegie Mellon, from what I saw (just the visitors building/cafe) was pretty nice. The area around CMU and Pitt is REALLY nice. It’s urbanized and interesting. But CMU seems really selective and idk if I’d have the right credentials to get into that school (I’m a bit short on the math score average). Whatever, I’ll see what happens.
